A few reasons…
1) I think it is a way to get out some of the things that are inside me (perhaps I am a frustrated preacher???
).
2) It’s a way to let others know what the Lord is speaking to me about.
3) My church. There are a number of us who regularly pray for the Lord’s kingdom come here at The Grainery (a Christian church in Newcastle) and I think they have a look at the blog from time to time. For example, I think the blog ‘Dry Bones to Vast Army’ is for our church (and I’m sure the wider church as well) but it’s up to others whether they pick that up or not. I’m not going to rant and rave about things (if you understand what I mean).
4) A while back, I joined some of the social networking sites (ie: Facebook, MySpace). I wanted to see what was going on. I found a lot of people I know were on there. It seemed there was a lot of time wasting going on, some negative stuff, some worldly stuff and not a lot of pointing to Jesus (some people were). So I am there as well, pointing to Jesus and occasionally helping people through stuff, and I have posted a link to this blog as well on there for anyone’s encouragement.
My label…
1) If someone wanted to label me, people see me as some sort of prayer/pastor fellow. Someone in the background that is reliable and always there. I believe there is some prophetic in me but I don’t do a song and dance about such things. Again it’s more of a background thing to whoever is listening. If your not listening you miss it.
2) I lead a cell group with my wife and son. I am involved with the Men’s Ministry. I pray with people. I am involved with a fair bit of the prayer parts of the church. I co-ordinate prayer a little. I shoot out prayer requests to over 100 people via SMS when urgent prayer is needed.
3) I am supernaturally an encourager and a rock and (I was going to say) a prayer warrior but I am backing off from that label. Perhaps a humble, God listening, background type of prayer person (Note for me: research if you say you are humble are you not humble anymore???
).
I’m trying in get up to speed with some of this internet stuff. It seems the Devil has mastered it better than us Christians. I hope to do my part to change that.
Hope that helps!
Blessings
Steve
Keep it up
If the enemy can use the internet to deceive even the children of GOD, we can use the same medium to draw more souls to JESUS!!!
